I feel like I should put this under a read more…

Also assuming we’re talking about Batfam books…?

Going to admit straight-up that I haven’t read Batgirl. I’m still bitter about the Oracle walking stuff I guess. I just… really liked Babs as Oracle. I probably will read it, but not for a while. If/when I do I’ll probably enjoy it, because I do really like a lot of Simone’s work.I also haven’t read all of Batwing. Though I plan on it. I don’t buy it (which is really shameful when you look at some of the books I do buy) but I’ve read my sister’s copies for the first few and I did really like it so when I get a chance to finally catch up over the summer I might pick it up permanently. Maybe. Depending on money and dropping other books that is.

On the note of dropping books I dropped Catwoman at issue one because personally I thought it was awful which was a shame because I do genuinely really love Selina and I usually do really like Winick’s writing. I was also pretty quick to drop Batman: The Dark Knight and Detective Comics. I’ve had people argue with me about those last two which shows they are, I guess, good books for people who do like them. I just found the TDK a little tedious/predictable and Detective Comics… to put it simply I didn’t get on with it so I gave it up.

Moving onto slightly more positive thoughts. I really love Batwoman. The art and the plot are both flawless imo and seriously the book was so worth all the waiting and delays and its one of the comics I really look forward to reading. And Kate is wonderful and I’m half surprised this blog hasn’t turned into somekind of Kate blog. I also really love Batman, I think Snyder is a fantastic writer and issue five (might have the numbers muddled, my comics aren’t with me atm) with all the topsy-turvy pages and things – I loved that. Batman and Robin is another book I enjoy but I’m not as big a fan of the Damian and Bruce team up as I was Damian and Dick but the fact Damian still exists in the DCnU unlike some of my favourite characters (Wally and Donna ;_;) makes up for that I guess. Nightwing is also good.

Not sure if its Batfamily but I also really like Birds of Prey. I really adore Starling. She’s one of my favourite female comic characters ever and is probably a really close second compared to Kate.

I guess that leaves Red Hood & the Outlaws and wow okay I’ll be honest I still buy it and sometimes I’m not sure why. I had and still have some issues with it (which lets face it people are probably tired of hearing about and will know exactly what I’m thinking about so I’ll leave it at that) but I’m a big fan of Jason, Roy, and Kory so part of me buys it purely for the special soft spot I have for those characters.

So um yeah best batfam related books are probably Batwoman and Batman for me. Also outside of Batbooks I also really like Action Comics, JLI, Wonder Woman and Justice League Dark.
